If you have ever visited Disney World, you know the magical atmosphere of the parks. It’s like stepping a foot outside of the stress and routine of regular life and into a world where your biggest problem is being on time for tea with the princesses. It is truly unlike anywhere on earth.
The lively parades, the immersive attractions, seeing characters we’ve grown up watching, it’s these moments that I wanted to photograph in a memory-like fashion. Memories usually consist of a highlighted object, and everything else is just a blur. Whether it be the lively parades, immersive attractions, or seeing characters we’ve grown up watching, I wanted to freeze those moments in time. To achieve this, I used long-exposure photography techniques to transform the faces of other visitors into a blur, spotlighting the main subject. Using longer shutter speeds allowed the camera to capture movements and lights over time, allowing me to highlight the central subjects, while everything around them became an insignificant blur, just like the way we remember our most cherished moments at Walt Disney World. I edited the photos as vibrant as I remembered the location. The sky was a rich blue, and the landscaping and architecture popped with brilliant colors.
In the end, my photo collection, "Capturing Enchantment," isn't just a visual diary of my journey; it's a testament to the power of storytelling and a reminder that, no matter how old we grow, there will always be a part of us that believes in the magic of a place where wishes come true.
